Scuba Diving
Scuba Diving allows you to explore the mysteries of the underwater world. You can do a try dive for a day but an Open Water Course would be very beneficial even if you decide against becoming qualified.
Australia has some of the best dives in the world and is a fantastic place to learn to scuba dive - Great Barrier Reef, Solitary Islands Marine Reserve, Ningaloo Reef or even a cage dive with Great Whites in South Australia.

Sky Diving
A tandem jump is a good way to start Sky Diving - costs about $AU 350. You can learn any time of the year. To find out more Australian Parachute Federation. Skysurfing is another option - riding a skyboard during freefall.
Snowboarding & Skiing
A course in snowboarding will provide you with the basics and is fantastic for those who love adventure.
Skiing is a traditional favourite and lesson are available at resorts.
Costs depend on the resort. There's Lift Tickets from around $AU 100 per day or you can get a day lift pass and a lesson for not much more than that!
Head to Thredbo, Perisher, Charlotte Pass, Mount Buller, Mount Hotham
Snowkiting
A combination of kitesurfing and snowboarding or skiing, snowkiting is one of the fastest growing winter sports and is the easiest form of kitesurfing to learn. It can be enjoyed on safe, snow-covered open terrain that has consistent wind and you can ride for as long as the wind blows.
Level 1 Kite Pilot Course cost approx $AU 100 per adult.

Surfing & BodyBoarding
With over 14,000 km of coastline there's lots of opportunities around Australia's Holiday Coast to go surfing, skim boarding or bodyboarding.
It costs about $AU 60 per hour to do a course and that includes equipment hire.

Wakeboarding & Kneeboarding
A combination of skiing and snowboarding on water, wakeboarding is incredibly good fun. Or you could try kneeboarding where you kneel rather than stand on the board. And let's not forget water skiing - a long time popular pursuit of Australians. Lessons cost about $AU 100 per hour.

Whitewater Rafting
Adrenalin pumping, thrilling and great fun, riding the rapids with at least 5 other people trying to keep the raft heading in the right direction. Lots of places to pursue this and it costs around $AU 200 per day
Windsurfing
Windsurfing is practised on a large surfboard with a sail, mast and boom. It's worth taking lessons to help you decide on which style suits you - freeride; slalom; racing, freestyle or wavesailing. An intro lesson of about 4 hours costs less than $AU 150. Find out more at Australian Windsurfing
