The twin towns of Forster and Tuncurry is the largest urban area of the Great Lakes. The surrounding villages of Coomba Park and Green Point on the shores of Wallis Lake, and the Pacific Palms area combine to provide a wealth of attractions and activities.

Coomba Park can be accessed by boat or by a 40 minute scenic drive around Wallis Lake. Native birds abound and at sunset Wallabies come down to feed on lush green grass.

Wallis Lake is a large shallow saltwater lake supporting local fishing and oyster industries. Wallamba, Wallingat, Wang Wauk and Coolongolook rivers feed into the lake. Boat ramps and picnic facilities are provided on the shores, as well as a full range of marine services. There’s a variety of scenic and dolphin cruises, fishing charters, houseboat, boat and water sport hire facilities.

Smiths Lake, the smallest of the three lakes is separated from the Pacific Ocean by the Sandbar Beach. The warm, calm water of the lake is ideal for the whole family. There’s swimming, boating, picnicking, fishing, sailboarding, catamarans and surfing.
